Women's Health

I am passionate about women's health. Lifestyle factors have a huge role in our health; all six pillars of Lifestyle Medicine can be implemented to improve your hormonal health. I do not offer any diagnostics, treatment or therapy relating to hormones or women's health, however I am happy to signpost you to relevant individuals who are experts in the field.

Bloomful is a fantastic website which I would encourage you to explore. Dr Dupe Burgess, Founder of Bloomful, is a Gynaecologist who is looking to bridge the gap in healthcare for women.

Menstrual Concerns

The average age of menarche (starting your menstrual cycle) in the UK is 12 years and 11 months. The average age of menopause in the UK (cessation of menstrual cycles) is 51 years old. That's on average 39 years of potential ups and downs with a ladies hormones.

Calendar Pages

Utilising services available to support your menstrual cycle, such as the app Clue, are brilliant ways to learn more about your cycle, and what is normal for you. The more information you collect about yourself, you may be surprised at different patterns in your cycle which you may not have noticed before.

Q&A: Flourish: Why am I sharing this information?

Having struggled with my hormones for most of my life, I am very aware how limited access to support is, and the battle for a real understanding.

So I have reached out to providers and asked for permission to share and signpost any users of my website to their own resources to increase access, to benefit from expert knowledge, and to show my support to individuals who are trying to make a difference to the quality of our lives.
